A Crazy weekend in Sydney

So last year I entered a competition run by 1 Cover Travel Insurance and for the first time in my life I actually won! The prize was a weekend in Sydney including airfares, accommodation at the Park Hyatt, a helicopter ride into the Hunter Valley with lunch at a beautiful French restaurant, a cruise on the Sydney Harbour with champagne and lunch and a magnificent dinner in the Ivy complex.

We flew from Darwin to Sydney and arrived at 6.30am, it was too early to check in so we dropped our bags and headed out for a wander around Sydney. I made us a reservation at Mr Wong’s for Yum Cha which is definate if you’re in Sydney – the service is amazing and you can’t fault the food.

Later that night we went to Felix for dinner so Steve could have his favourite pate’ and they didn’t disappoint! Steve raved about it so much the Maitre De gave him the recipe….not sure it’ll be as good, but we’ll have a try at making it.

On Sunday we flew with @Sydneyhelitours into the Hunter Valley-it was a 45min flight and just amazing to see Sydney from the air. We had a decadent 3 course lunch at Molines French restaurant, bought a couple of bottles of wine from Tallavera Grove Winery and flew home – what a day!

Monday saw us cruising on the harbour on the beautiful boat ‘Salute’ captained by Brett who showed us a lovely afternoon.
