We’re a family of 3 (sometimes 4 when our uni student daughter can join us) and our journey begins in Darwin, Northern Territory. Steve was born in Alice Springs and I’ve lived in Darwin since 1980, so I guess you could call us Territorians.
Ever wanted to hit the open road, take the stress levels down a notch and explore this amazing country we call Australia?
That’s our goal, and whilst we have commitments – jobs, kids and mortgages, it’s not easy to just take off for 3 months. So we started doing little weekend trips away – just a tent and a portable bbq. It wasn’t long before we fell in love with life on the short road and discovered how easy it is.
So this blog is about short (and some long) get away trips around the Territory and beyond. We’ll be trying out different equipment and some new toys to see what works and what doesn’t. We’ll include tips about where to stay and what to see – hopefully our mistakes will make your camping better!
We want to share our experiences and chat with anyone who wants to visit the NT and would like a bit of local knowledge.
